Active constituents of plants (Vegetables):- Active constituents of plants are those which are responsible wholly or partially for pharmacological action of the drug.



The pharmacologically active constituents of plants are:

                 i.    Alkaloids.

                ii.    Glycosides.

                iii.    Fixed oil and volatile oils.

                iv.     Antibiotics.

                v.   Tannins.

                vi. Carbohydrates.
